Bài 3: Grammar – Tìm và sửa lỗi

Đề: Circle the mistake in each sentence. Then correct it.

1. Children should learn to recycling (A) from an early age so that they will be prepared to deal with plastic pollution in the future.

→ Lỗi: A → sửa thành to recycle.

  • Giải thích: sau "learn to" phải dùng động từ nguyên thể (to + V), không dùng V-ing.

2. Many students are taking part in the Green Campaign this year, that shows (B) that nowadays people care more about the environment.

→ Lỗi: B → sửa thành which shows.

  • Giải thích: mệnh đề quan hệ bổ nghĩa cho cả câu phía trước phải dùng which, không dùng "that".

3. Many people neither believe in climate change nor want to understand what is happening with (C) the environment, which is a big concern.

→ Lỗi: C → sửa thành to.

  • Giải thích: cụm đúng là "what is happening to the environment" (điều đang xảy ra với môi trường).

  • Giải thích: "throw away" mới có nghĩa là vứt bỏ. "throw over" không đúng nghĩa ở đây.

PROJECT: Eco-friendly habits (trang 43)

Đề: Work in groups. Design a leaflet to give away on Green Day at your school. The leaflet should promote an eco-friendly habit (e.g. saving water, reusing paper, recycling plastic). Present the leaflet to the class. Use these questions as cues:

  • What is the habit?
  • How important is it for a greener lifestyle and the environment?
  • What should we do to develop the habit?

Reuse Paper – Save Our Forests! Our habit is reusing paper. This means using both sides of a sheet, turning old paper into notebooks, and collecting used paper for recycling instead of throwing it away. This habit is very important for a greener lifestyle. Making new paper cuts down millions of trees every year and uses a lot of water and energy. By reusing paper, we protect forests, save water, and reduce waste sent to landfills. To develop this habit, we should: use both sides of every page, keep a box to collect used paper, choose recycled notebooks, and remind our friends and family to do the same. Small actions can make a big difference. Let's go green together!
