Bài 3 (trang 142): Reported speech – Chọn câu tường thuật đúng nghĩa

Mẹo: dựa vào động từ tường thuật phù hợp với chức năng câu gốc.

1. 'You should spend 20 minutes a day practising your English,' my teacher told me.

• Đáp án: C. My teacher advised me to spend 20 minutes a day practising my English.
• Giải thích: "should" là lời khuyên → dùng advised somebody to do something.

1. 'Don't leave the office before 6 p.m,' our manager said.

• Đáp án: A. The manager told us not to leave the office before 6 p.m.
• Giải thích: câu mệnh lệnh phủ định ("Don't…") → told somebody not to do something.

1. 'Please show me your identity card before you enter the building,' the security guard asked me.

• Đáp án: B. The security guard asked me to show him my identity card before I entered the building.
• Giải thích: "Please…" là lời yêu cầu lịch sự → asked somebody to do something. Lưu ý "me" trong lời nói → "him" trong câu tường thuật; thì lùi "enter → entered".

1. 'I'll show you how to use the new software,' my manager said.

• Đáp án: D. My manager offered to show me how to use the new software.
• Giải thích: "I'll show you…" là lời đề nghị giúp đỡ tự nguyện → offered to do something.

Bài Listening 1 – 2 (trang 142): Lifelong learning

Lưu ý: phần này cần file nghe (track 84, 85). Mình không nghe được audio nên đưa đáp án theo nội dung chuẩn của bài. Bạn nên nghe lại để kiểm chứng.

Bài 1: Which is NOT mentioned as a reason for lifelong learning?

• Đáp án thường gặp: B. Employees' expectations of success.
• Giải thích: Bài nói nhắc đến tác động của công nghệ (A) và thị trường việc làm cạnh tranh hơn (C), nên ý không được nhắc tới là B.

Bài 2: Hoàn thành ghi chú (gợi ý đáp án theo transcript chuẩn):

• (1) process (continuous process – quá trình liên tục)
• (2) automation (advanced technology and automation)
• (3) redundant (jobs become redundant or automated – việc làm trở nên thừa)
• (4) skills (demand for other skills)
• (5) new things (show that you can learn new things)
• (6) lifelong learning (committed to lifelong learning)

Bài Speaking 1 – 2 (trang 142): Cách học suốt đời

Đây là bài nói nhóm, không có đáp án cố định. Bạn xếp hạng (1 = quan trọng nhất) tùy quan điểm. Một gợi ý hợp lý:

Mẫu câu thảo luận:

• "I think attending training courses is the most important because it gives us up-to-date knowledge from experts."
• "In my opinion, putting new skills into practice matters most. We only really learn when we apply what we know."
• "How about ranking reading higher? It's a cheap and easy way to keep learning every day."

Bài 2: thêm cách học khác, ví dụ:

• Watching online tutorials / educational videos
• Joining online communities or forums
• Learning a new language
• Taking part in volunteer activities

Bài Reading 1 (trang 143): Nối tiêu đề với từng phần (A–D)

Đoạn văn nói về CAREER PLANNING (lập kế hoạch nghề nghiệp).

• Section A → 1. Exploring career options

(Lập danh sách các lựa chọn nghề, tìm hiểu cơ hội mới → khám phá lựa chọn nghề nghiệp.)

• Section B → 5. Getting to know yourself

(Xác định sở thích, tính cách, điểm mạnh của bản thân → hiểu chính mình.)

• Section C → 2. Reaching out for guidance

(Hỏi cha mẹ, thầy cô, dự hội chợ việc làm, gặp cố vấn → tìm kiếm sự hướng dẫn.)

• Section D → 3. Taking action to turn goals into reality

(Bắt tay hành động để đạt mục tiêu → biến mục tiêu thành hiện thực.)

• Tiêu đề thừa (không dùng): 4. Getting a university degree.

Bài Reading 2 (trang 143): Chọn đáp án đúng A, B, C, D

1. How is the article organised?

• Đáp án: D. Sorting information into themes and categories.
• Giải thích: Bài chia thành các phần A, B, C, D, mỗi phần là một chủ đề/lời khuyên riêng → sắp xếp thông tin theo chủ đề.

1. According to Section B, which is one way of identifying a suitable job?

• Đáp án: A. Finding career choices suitable for your personality and interests.
• Giải thích: Section B khuyên hiểu tính cách, điểm mạnh để khớp với lựa chọn nghề. Đáp án D bẫy ("strengths") nhưng B nhấn mạnh personality and interests, sát với câu hỏi về "identifying a suitable job" theo tính cách & sở thích.

1. According to Section C, how can students get the most out of a job fair?

• Đáp án: C. By working out which participating companies they want to meet in advance.
• Giải thích: Bài viết: "prepare well by researching the participating companies in advance and identifying who you want to talk to."

1. Why do you think the writer asks questions in Section D?

• Đáp án: A. To engage readers and encourage them to think about the answers.
• Giải thích: Các câu hỏi ("How do you want to get there? Do you need a university degree…?") nhằm lôi cuốn người đọc tự suy nghĩ.

Mẹo viết CV: dùng gạch đầu dòng ngắn gọn, chọn kỹ năng/kinh nghiệm khớp với "Job responsibilities" trong tin tuyển (researching fashion trends, assisting design team). Như vậy CV của bạn sẽ "match" với mô tả công việc.
