Tóm tắt lý thuyết (Remember!)

• Thì quá khứ đơn (Past simple) dùng để nói về hành động đã hoàn thành trong quá khứ.
• Dấu hiệu nhận biết: yesterday, last month, three weeks ago, in 1999, last summer/spring/winter...

💡 Mẹo nhớ: Thấy "last, ago, yesterday, in + năm" → dùng ngay quá khứ đơn!

Câu 5 (trang 31) — Phát âm đuôi -ed

Đề bài: Listen to the sentences and pay attention to the underlined parts. Tick (✓) the appropriate sounds. Practise the sentences.

Cách giải — Quy tắc phát âm đuôi -ed

• /ɪd/: khi động từ kết thúc bằng /t/ hoặc /d/ (wanted, needed)
• /t/: khi kết thúc bằng âm vô thanh p, k, f, s, sh, ch, x (cooked, washed)
• /d/: khi kết thúc bằng âm hữu thanh còn lại và nguyên âm (played, cleaned)

💡 Mẹo nhớ: "T-D thì /ɪd/, vô thanh thì /t/, còn lại tất cả /d/"

✅ Đáp án: 1-/t/ ; 2-/d/ ; 3-/ɪd/ ; 4-/ɪd/ ; 5-/d/

Cách giải — Dựa vào dấu hiệu thời gian

Cách giải — Chia động từ ở quá khứ đơn

1. Care for Animals (take) took care of thousands of homeless dogs and cats last year.

(take → took: động từ bất quy tắc)

2. Did teenagers (join) join Lending Hand in 2015?

(Câu hỏi: Did + S + V-nguyên thể?)

3. We (help) helped the elderly in a village last summer.

(help → helped: động từ có quy tắc)

4. Last year, we (send) sent textbooks to help children in a rural village.

(send → sent: bất quy tắc)

5. Tom (volunteer) volunteered to teach English in our village last winter.

💡 Mẹo nhớ: Câu hỏi quá khứ đơn → "Did" đứng đầu, V trở về nguyên thể.

Đề bài: Complete the sentences with the correct forms of the verbs from the box.

Hộp từ: plant, read, cook, recycle, pick up

Cách giải — Xác định thì dựa vào dấu hiệu thời gian

1. The club members cook food for patients every Sunday.

("every Sunday" → hiện tại đơn, chủ ngữ số nhiều → cook)

2. Did you plant those trees in the playground last month?

("last month" → quá khứ đơn, câu hỏi → Did + V-nguyên thể)

3. Nick and his friends are picking up rubbish on the beach now.

("now" → hiện tại tiếp diễn → are + V-ing)

4. Tom recycled the plastic bottles, and now he has some nice vases.

(Hành động trong quá khứ dẫn đến kết quả hiện tại → quá khứ đơn)

5. We often read books to old people in a nursing home.

("often" → hiện tại đơn, "read" giữ nguyên với chủ ngữ "We")

Cách giải — Sắp xếp và chia động từ phù hợp
